How Does NAPF Use Your Data?

NAPF uses your data to:

  • Maintain a membership list

  • Share updates about NAPF events, publications, and community opportunities

How Does NAPF Store Your Data?

NAPF stores your data securely using Google Drive, a cloud-based platform compliant with international standards including ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR. Access is restricted to authorized NAPF personnel via encrypted, password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication.

NAPF retains your data:

  • As long as you are an active member, or

  • For up to 10 years after last contact (unless you request earlier deletion).Upon expiry or request, we delete your data by removing it from Google Drive, emptying associated trash folders, and permanently deleting it from shared and backup areas.

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time. Please contact us at privacy@napforum.org if you wish to exercise these rights.

Some data may be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. In such cases, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission to ensure adequate data protection.

Marketing

NAPF may send you information about our services that we believe may interest you. NAPF will only send marketing communications to users who have explicitly opted in (e.g., by checking a box on our membership form).
You can opt out of receiving market emails at any time by contacting privacy@napforum.org.

Your Data Protection Rights

The North Atlantic Policy Forum would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request the North Atlantic Policy Forum for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that the North Atlantic Policy Forum correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request the North Atlantic Policy Forum to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that the North Atlantic Policy Forum restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the North Atlantic Policy Forum’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that the North Atlantic Policy Forum transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

NAPF has one month to respond to any such request.
