NAPF invites submissions of original security, defense, and foreign policy papers to be featured on our platforms.
A policy brief is a short, focused text that summarizes a specific policy issue, presents relevant research or data, and offers evidence-based policy options and/or recommendations. It is designed to inform and influence decision-makers by making complex information clear, accessible, and actionable. While some briefs remain neutral and suggest various courses of action, others advocate for particular solutions based on the evidence presented.
Topic: The topic is up to you — As long as it is relevant to security, defense, and foreign policy and impacts an actor in the North Atlantic region, NAPF encourages you to write about what you’re truly passionate about.
Word Count: NAPF recommends a 1000-2000 word limit.
Preferred Citation Style: Chicago (must be Author-Date style)
Required Structure:
Title
Executive Summary
Analysis of Current Policy
Policy Recommendations
Bibliography
Author Biography (name, professional/academic background, nationality, policy areas of interest, contact email/LinkedIn)
Important:
All submissions must be the original work of the author. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), plagiarism, or any unauthorized assistance is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to decline publication based on quality concerns, evidence of plagiarism, or suspected use of AI.
